When dispensing applications are shifting to smaller and smaller dots, line and beads, dispensing results are also becoming more critical. Over flow dispensing is not allowed not only for high populated boards/ substrates, applications like small gap sealing is also unacceptable for satellite or over flow. Latest mini/micro led solder paste dispensing on pads is an another example for controlling dot size to be less than 200 um. Over flow for line/ bead and over size dot are all becoming quality issue. On the other hand, under size dispensing also creates another quality problem. Under size dispensing means insufficient adhesive volume to provide proper bonding strength and the feature like conductivity or heat transfer. Besides over or under size dispensing, air bubble and satellite issues are also an quality issue for some micro electronics applications like silver filling for semiconductor for noise protection. Post dispensing AOI becomes mandatory to dolce /all above dispensing quality issues.

Quality inspection

Due to the rapid development of precision dispensing technology, the quality of glue coating is becoming more and more important. Therefore, we provide quality inspection after glue coating to ensure that each dispensing result meets the specifications.

1.Width detection: For the detection of the glue width after the glue is applied, the width of the glue is the key to the product bonding. Glue with too small width may cause insufficient adhesion, while glue with too thick width may overflow when bonding. The phenomenon further caused product defects. Therefore, the appropriate glue width will be a key to the product manufacturing process. Through the recognition of the glue edge, the condition of each segment of glue can be accurately known and the maximum and minimum width values can be obtained.

2.Grayscale detection: When the material of the product changes, the surface gloss will change. At this time, grayscale detection is used to ensure whether there is a difference in the surface color of the product, so that each product can be produced with a fixed quality.

3.Area size detection: In order to ensure that the appearance of the glue has not changed due to environmental factors, such as the movement of the machine. The area size detection will be able to monitor whether the length and width of the glue are within the normal range.

4.Area ratio detection: In addition to the detection of the width of the glue, another common application of dispensing is filling, filling the glue in the designated area. At this time, the area ratio detection can be used to ensure whether the filling has reached the standard on the specification.

Defect detection

After the glue is applied, in addition to the quality inspection, it is also necessary to detect various possible defects. Therefore, we also provide different tools to screen for different defects after the glue is applied to ensure that these problems will not affect subsequent production.

1.Bubble detection: In some special glue material coating, often because the glue production time is too long, it is easy to produce bubbles in the glue, which affects the adhesion of the glue. At this time, the bubble detection can be used to confirm whether bubbles exist in the glue. Through the imaging technology of the connected area, each bubble position can be accurately located, and the filter value of the bubble area size can be set, and the bubble that will affect the quality of the glue can be detected.

2.Lack of glue detectionIn the continuous dispensing production, if the glue is not monitored and replenished in real time, the amount of glue will be insufficient, resulting in a lack of glue, which will affect the quality of production. Therefore, through the lack of glue detection, it will be possible to know whether the glue in the glued area is actually filled up to ensure the stability of the glue dispensing.

3.Noise detection: In addition to the lack of glue, another common glue dispensing defect is that when the amount of glue is too much, the glue is often applied to the place that should not be applied, which will cause pollution in the subsequent process. Noise detection can set the area of noise in a designated area. As long as the area exceeds the set area, it will be determined that there is foreign matter in the area to avoid the flow of products to the back station and affect the production process.
